About André
In 2007, André left Malta to play professional football abroad, a career spanning 13 years. He has played professionally across 8 different countries (Germany, Austria, Hungary, Greece, Cyprus, Portugal and India). Some of the well known leagues André played in include the Portuguese Primeira Liga and the German second Bundesliga. Ferencvárosi TC and Boavista FC are some of the prestigious clubs André had the pleasure of representing, including numerous appearances in the Europa League on behalf of Apollon Limassol FC. André had the proud honour of representing his country on 94 occasions.
André is currently the coach of the second team of Apollon Limassol Football Club.
He currently holds the UEFA A Diploma and a BSc Sport Science and Coaching in Football, from the University of Hull, where he researched professional players' perception of their coaches’ behaviours. He is also one of the co-founders of Traainer which is a company that help develop individual talent and unlock their full potential through strategic, holistic, multidisciplinary player preparation.

1st Gen
SALVINU SCHEMBRI
Salvinu Schembri was considered as the most complete footballer Malta has ever produced. As a polished playmaker, Salvinu won all honours the local game could offer and perhaps his best moment was, when he skippered the national team in the country's first international match in 1957.
2nd Gen
ERIC SCHEMBRI
Eric Schembri emulated his father by donning the Maltese jersey. During his career he played with Gżira United and Sliema Wanderers and won all major honours. Following his playing career, Schembri became a coach at the youth development phase. During his coaching career, Eric produced many local talent who ended up playing at the highest level of Maltese football and some even went on to play in foreign leagues.

ANDRÉ SCHEMBRI
André Schembri was a seasoned professional who has been among the flag-bearers of Maltese football over the years. He etched his name into national footballing history by scoring both of Malta's goals in a 2-1 UEFA EURO 2008 qualifying win against Hungary which ended a 13-year wait for a competitive win. André also went on to become the first Maltese player to score in the proper rounds of the Europa League.
